about

Skydiggers rendition of Bing Crosby's "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?" written by Jay Gorney and EY Hayburg. "A couple of years ago we were asked by artistic director Andrew Burashko of the Art of Time Ensemble to participate in a concert with the theme being protest music;" shares Josh Finlayson. "For our section of the program one of the songs Andrew asked us to perform was the depression era tune, "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?". It was a challenge we really enjoyed. Typically, we don’t learn tunes by request, so this was a unique and different experience for us. As a result, we continued playing the song from time to time and ended up making a recording of the song with bandmate Aaron Comeau at his east end Toronto studio, The Trailer."
