The turning point for me appeared At an age it seemed I had no fear I had found my way and started down this road By the time we reached the Hideaway We had climbed the heap of dumps to play So we moved away to conquer all this world All of our dreaming would always save us again All of our dreaming would always carry us through Carry us through, again The turning point for me appeared At an age it seemed I had no fear I had found my way and started down this road By the time we reached the Hideaway We had climbed the heap of dumps to play Disband, L'etranger, D17 Teenage Head, last call All of our dreaming would always save us again All of our dreaming would always carry us through Carry us All of our dreaming would always save us again All of our dreaming would always carry us through Carry us through, again All of our dreaming would always carry us through Carry us through, again

Let me take back the things I said I never meant to wish you dead I hope there're better times ahead If I could turn back the hands of time I would never spend a dime On those foolish fears of mine You take the side of the winners And turn your back on the losers all around Sometimes it's hard to be myself And when things around me change I might turn on you again Sometimes it's better not to ask If there's meaning to this task So just roll with it and laugh You take the side of the winners And turn your back on the losers all around Don't forget, that it's never far behind You take the side of the winners And turn your back on the losers all around Don't forget, that it's never far behind Don't forget, that it's never far behind Don't forget, that it's never far behind

Dear Henry 03:20
Dear Henry you expect so much from me I've settled on what's easiest it seems Staying here at your expense Doesn’t really make much sense Of Henry why expect so much from me Oh Patience you’ve not heard the last from me Not likely because I don’t give in easily If I could only recognize what is truth and what are lies Oh patience I will learn eventually So judgement turn that blinding light away It’s easy to be critical of me I don’t mean to laugh at you But I don’t share your point of view So judgement shine that light away from me There’s a path that led us here There’s a truth that we still share In between the two, there must be room to reconcile So Henry don’t expect so much from me I’ve settled on what’s easiest it seems Deal with all your demons first Before you make this problem worse Yeah Henry you expect too much from me Oh Patience I will learn eventually So judgement turn that light away from me

Company Man 04:42
The company man was singin' The most beautiful song The telephone was ringin' And it rang on and on and on There's a view from the steeple High above this factory town A simple light from a distance An endless grind if you live it There's a room full of people They don't make a sound They're just listening Foreheads glistening If by chance you return someday Would you kindly take me away If by chance you return someday Would you kindly take me away The company man was singin' The most beautiful song I wasn't thinkin' So I just sang along There's a view from the steeple High above this factory town A simple light from a distance An endless grind if you live it There's a room full of people They don't make a sound They're just listening Foreheads glistening If by chance you return someday Would you kindly take me away If by chance you return someday Would you kindly take me away

I know when to stop I know when enough is enough I won't throw up on your laptop Mini bar superstar Mini bar superstar I ain't waiting for the crying to stop Give me the key Give me the key

Sometimes things are the way they seem And sometimes they're not nearly so straight forward We spent nearly all of our time together No need to say much because we knew each other I'm my brother's keeper I don't feel I owe anybody an explanation What with all these folks pokin' me for answers I don't owe anybody anything I know we seem different to you But from where we're standing You seem pretty different to us, too You're not gonna fool me, are ya? Your ways are not our ways You're not going to fool me Into saying I did something wrong Because I didn't I didn't do anything wrong He was my brother Sometimes things are the way they are And sometimes they're not nearly so straight forward Brother's keeper, brother's keeper, brother's keeper I'm my brother's keeper, I'm my brother's keeper It's you who insists there's meaning in this It's me who reveals that's just how it feels Don't lose that tune boy Is all I'm saying No better ending No chance of changing I've nothing left boy Is what I'm saying No better ending No sense remaining So you dress the corpse And you close the lid And you make the arrangements And you fill me full of secrets Because this is family business We spent nearly all of our time together No need to say much because we knew each other I'm my brother's keeper That's all the talkin' I'm gonna do That's that's that's that's just about close enough now You know, you know you corner a dog He's not just gonna sit there is he? No no no he's gonna bite you if he has to So go on, go on I ain't sayin' no more, now I ain't sayin' no more to you now So go on go on It's you who insists there's meaning to this It's me who reveals that's just how it feels Don't lose that tune boy Is all I'm saying No better ending No chance of changing I've nothing left boy Is what I'm saying No better ending No sense remaining This dust room, with you, with you I am not the one... That's all

about

Brother’s Keeper (songs with Paul)

Brother’s Keeper is a six-song ep of alternate takes and previously unreleased tracks from our 1997 album, Desmond’s Hip City. A time of transition for the band, the addition of Gavin Brown (drums) and Paul MacLeod (guitar & vocals), along with the production of Daryl Smith, gave us a jolt of energy that contributed to our boldest and brashest recording yet. We dedicate this ep to Paul, and in his memory we will donate all proceeds from this release to the Unison Fund, an organization whose goal is to ensure that the people who make up the Canadian music business never face times of crisis alone.

Recommended minimum donation - $10.00
